* Even in death,no other Nigerian player has matched his goal tally for the country. He scored a whooping 37 goals in 50+ appearances. No one else does that.
* He had a humble living but died mysteriously.
* He played professional football with Olympiacos of Greece,Victoria Setubal of Portugal,Sporting Gijon of Spain etc. He was worshipped in all these club-sides.
* All those years, I was a teenager, but i followed his career with keen interest . I would run every Friday morning to the newsstand opposite Total Filling Station,Ore to read stories about him from the Complete Sports from people. I had no money then to afford a copy of the paper myself. Because I love him.
* He died painfully on the 4th of May, 2012; EXACTLY FIVE YEARS TODAY.
* He was the goal-king himself, gangling RASHIDI YEKINI.
Your commitment to your fatherland as a sportsman remains unmatched till date.
* Sleep on Yeking... your legacies endure.
