PRESIDENT BUHARI, AGAIN, LISTEN.....
Let me update you on a little bit of history about a few things that happened in the National Assembly:

Between 1999 and 2003 the following happened:

1. President Obasanjo imposed Senator Evan(s) Enwerem as Senate President on all the senators, but when the media - yes, the media - exposed Senator Enwerem as being an ex-convict who cleverly changed his name from Evan to Evans so that he could deceive INEC and voters to become a senator, Obasanjo mobilized and sacked him as Senate President, and nothing happened!

2. The charismatic, brilliant and stylish Chuba Okadigbo became Senate President against the wishes of President Olusegun Obasanjo, but when Okadigbo awarded a contract of a mere sum of 12 million Naira without advertisemen, or without due process, as is said these days, Obasanjo again mobilized and sacked Chuba Okadigbo as Senate President, and nothing happened!

3. After Chuba Okadigbo, President Obasanjo imposed Senator Adolphus Wabara on the senate as Senate President, but when Wabara took part in receiving and sharing a bribe of a mere sum of 50 million Naira from the Minister of Education at that time, Obasanjo ordered the arrest and immediate prosecution of Senator Adolphus Wabara, and nothing happened!

4. President Obasanjo imposed Honourable Salisu Buhari on the House of Reps as their Speaker in 1999, but when the media - yes, again, the media - exposed Hon. Salisu Buhari as having forged a degree certificate purportedly from a university in Toronto, Canada, Obasanjo mobilized and got him removed as House Speaker, and nothing happened!

5. Now, I wouldn't waste time talking about House Speaker Patricia Ette matter, as that case had no any form of interference from late President Umaru Yar'Adua!

BUT HERE COMES THE WORST.... JUST IN 2014...

6. President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the unlawful removal of the security aides of House Speaker Aminu Tambuwal, and NOTHING HAPPENED!

7. President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the gates of the National Assembly to be shut against House Speaker Aminu Tambuwal and other legislators, and NOTHING HAPPENED!

8. President Goodluck Jonathan ordered the police to teargas the National Assembly, specifically against House Speaker Aminu Tambuwal and other legislators, and NOTHING HAPPENED! Not even a whimper nor condemnation through a resolution was heard from the Senate!

NOW HERE IS THE DEAL....

 • If a ruler like Obasanjo interfered in the affairs of the National Assembly to clamp down on either certificate forgers or bribe takers or for contract award "without due process", and NOTHING HAPPENED,

 • And if a notoriously corrupt ruler like Jonathan clamped down on Speaker Tambuwal; shut the gates against him; teargassed him; withdrew his security cover, and NOTHING HAPPENED, what do you think will happen if a man of integrity like you clamps down on all criminals masquerading as senators in the Senate?

NOTHING WILL HAPPEN, I assure you!

In your own case, you have the massive support of majority of Nigerians to decisively clamp down on these rogues, including the unflinching support of many prominent legal luminaries. So just crush them and liberate Nigeria.... After all, that's the reason we put you in power - to liberate Nigeria from crooks, criminals, and gangsters occupying positions of power!

Shakespeare famously said you have to be cruel to be kind.... In other words, you have to be cruel to gangsters, criminals, and rogues in the Senate so that you will be kind to the poor people they seek to destroy with their corruption. Cruelty to crooks like Saraki and his gang by you will be an act of kindness to poor Nigerians. That's the deal. A committee cannot tame criminals.

BREAKING: Central Bank Governor Resigns

Governor of Ghana’s central bank, Abdul-Nashiru Issahaku has resigned, sources who asked to be anonymous have revealed.

According to sources within the central bank, the governor who officially started his four-year term around September last year tendered his resignation on Wednesday citing personal reasons.

Although the governors of the central bank have been insulated against political risk through an amended Bank of Ghana Act which assures them the security of tenure, speculations have been rife immediately after the December election that the current government would like the governor to leave office so they could appoint a replacement.

Issahaku was first appointed by former president John Mahama in April 2016 in an acting position when Henry Wampah tendered his resignation six months before the end of his tenure.

Mahama was defeated at the polls by current president, Nana Akufo-Addo who won the election by 53 per cent.

NAN (source), also named former head of the research department at the bank, Ernest Addison now with the African Development Bank as one of the front-runners to occupy the Bank of Ghana chair.

The outgoing governor held his last Monetary Policy Committee press briefing on Monday, where he announced a 200 basis point reduction in the bank’s benchmark policy rate from 25.5 per cent to 23.5 per cent.

Sanchez, Ozil will stay at Arsenal says Wenger.

Arsenal boss Arsene Wenger is confident Alexis Sanchez and Mesut Ozil want to stay at the club but says his own future is “not sorted completely”.

Contract talks with Ozil, 28, and Sanchez are on hold until the summer.

Sanchez, 28, has been quoted stating he wants to stay in London at a club with a “winning mentality”, prompting speculation of a move to Chelsea.

“Alexis said he wants to win the championship, that’s what everybody wants,” added Wenger.

‘Not sorted completely’

Wenger was offered a new contract earlier this season but several ex-Arsenal players have stated his 21 years at the club are coming to an end in the face of mounting fan frustration at perceived underachievement.

The Gunners remain in the FA Cup but have exited the Champions League and sit sixth in the Premier League, form which has seen sections of supporters hold banners and sing songs asking Wenger to leave.

He promised clarity on his future “soon” less than two weeks ago, but on Thursday said: “It’s a subject that at the moment it is not sorted completely out.

“I’m very clear in my mind. Do I stay two months or two years? My commitment will be exactly the same all the time. It does not influence my attitude.”

Striker Lucas Perez has told Spanish media that Wenger has not communicated any decision to the players, but that he expects the manager to stay.

Arsenal have lost six of their last nine games but, asked if the issue was creating a distraction, Wenger added: “I believe the priority in life is to focus on what is important, not to look for excuses.”

Arsenal meet hosts Manchester City on Sunday and the visitors’ boss Pep Guardiola has called criticism of Wenger “unacceptable”.

In turn Wenger said: “I respect him hugely as a manager, exceptional career, once he’s been at Man City 20 years don’t worry, he’ll get the same treatment.”

In conclusion, Wenger said “I personally believe both of them want to stay and I hope the club will find an agreement with them,”

Both players are under contract until June 2018 but speculation over their futures has been widespread during the current campaign.

The Arsenal manager, 67, stressed the situation was “not an immediate concern” and that there was no need to sell key players, unlike in past seasons when the club did so based on their financial position.

Chilean Sanchez was quoted in his homeland saying: “I’m happy in London [home of both Arsenal and current Premier League leaders Chelsea] and I want to finish my contract. I like to stay in one place, one city, where the team fights for titles.”

Wenger emphasised he took Sanchez’s words in “a very positive way”.
